Voces Unidas graduated eight leaders as part of our inaugural cohort for the new nonprofit board leadership course under the Líderes Institute.
The Líderes Institute, a program of Voces Unidas, offers intensive, cohort-based training courses to prepare and place Latina and Latino leaders in decision-making tables across the valleys. Course themes include how to run for public office, serving on nonprofit boards and more.
The four-week nonprofit board leadership course provided Latina and Latino leaders with the knowledge, confidence, tools, and skills to serve successfully on a local nonprofit board of directors. Graduates received certificates of completion from both Voces Unidas and the Colorado Secretary of State.
Here are the graduates:
Alma de Lara (Avon)
Beatriz Soto (New Castle)
Bryan Alvarez-Terrazas (Carbondale)
Cindy Peña (Glenwood Spring)
Gladys Tellez (Gypsum)
Laura Segura (El Jebel)
Maribel Obreque (Glenwood Springs)
Rosa Gamboa
All eight leaders are already placed or are in the process of joining local and statewide nonprofit boards.
This course and others will be available in 2022. For more information, visit https://www.vocesunidas.org/lideres-institute.
