Voces Unidas Action Fund proudly endorses and supports candidates for regional school board elections who are champions on the issues that matter to Latino communities. We believe it's not enough to simply vote, but we must advocate and engage on these issues to drive policy and hold candidates accountable.
Our endorsement process is now open for the 2023 election cycle. The application process will close at midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 6th.
We are currently considering endorsements for candidates for the following school board/CMC races:
Garfield County School District 16, where 3 At-Large seats are up.
Garfield School District RE-2, where districts B, C and D are up.
Roaring Fork School District RE-1, where districts B, C and D are up
Eagle County School District RE 50, where districts A, C, D and E are up.
Lake County School District R-1, where 3 At-Large seats are up.
Summit County Schools RE-1, where 4 At-Large seats are up.
Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees, where districts 2, 4, 5 and 6 are up.
Candidates are asked to complete a questionnaire on a variety of policy areas, followed by an interview with our endorsement committee made up of local leaders from the central mountain region. Interviews will take place on the afternoons of Sept. 8 and Sept. 11th.
When we endorse, we work hard to ensure that our endorsed candidates are successful.
As a local, community-created 501(c)(4) advocacy nonprofit organization, we invest our time, energy and resources to support our endorsed candidates. We volunteer, knock on doors, make phone calls, and raise money from local community members. We do this because we believe that when our neighbors and communities come together to support leaders who share our values, we can affect the change we need.
Final decisions on endorsements will be announced in mid-September.
